Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Las Vegas....and Paris?

Hey there, it’s Laura again. Well what can I say about day 6, OMG! That about sums it up. The day was amazing there are no words that can encompass the beauty of the day! I don’t think I have ever had a more awe inspiring birthday since birth! We spent the night in Flagstaff Arizona and woke to a beautiful sunrise. We drove up 180 towards the Grand Canyon, and Thank you Pete for the righteous road! The drive was beautiful, winding mountain roads, I was in driving heaven! We got up to the Canyon itself and there truly are no words to describe the awe and beauty that is simply overwhelming. The colors, the depth, it was just so…amazing, there truly are no words that can describe it.

We left the Canyon and drove on Hwy 40 and saw lots of Mountains and some Desert landscaping and it was all a delight to the eyes. We ran into road construction, go figure, as we got near the Hoover Dam, but dam, that was surprisingly beautiful too, well not the construction but the dam itself. And in a few years I would love to see the huge bridge they are building to cross above the dam. The Mountains leading down into Las Vegas were again beautiful. I think I am a mountain girl at heart because I took a note from Pam and was making Bonnie noises myself looking at the mountains. Ahh Las Vegas…what can I say it’s Vegas baby! We checked into the Paris Hotel right in the middle of the strip and then hit the strip. WOW! Too much to take in at one time, a true assault on the senses. The lights the places, the people over the top but fun and boy do our feet hurt! From our room I look out at the Eiffel Tower and the water and light show across the street at the Belliago, we got to watch it right from our room. More to come, here’s Pam.

Not much more to offer but waking up in Paris…er….Vegas is a fabulous sureal moment in your life. I enjoyed the mini bar (well, looking at it) the most. I had fun showing Laura just how much Vegas changed in 20 years. It was 116 as we came down from the mountains, and leveled off at 95 during evening. Grand Canyon, Hoover Damn and the Eifel Tower all in one day-how do we top that??
