It's me again Margaret....oh sorry its Laura again lol Got started today about 9:45 leaving Carthage, MO, headed over to Joplin, MO to a car wash and gosh those touchless car washes sure make you feel like your car is being swallowed so first quote for today is from Laura talking to Michael, "A big red tongue just ate my car!"
From Joplin we drove over into Kansas for a little bitty while then headed out for Oaklahoma. It was great fun we ate lunch at America's largest McDonald's. It is situated over the Highway and all the vehicles drive under you as you eat in the dining area. We also had a great time following a handsome man in a big green dodge pick up!! lol Thanks for the escort into Oaklahoma City Michael.
We attempted to see some sights on Route 66 and were very disappointed at how bad the directions are for seeing some of the sights and even more that some of the residents of the small towns didnt know anything about the icons that were suposed to be in their towns. However the ones we did get to see were well worth the time it took trying to find them and if you ever get a chance to eat at Lucilles Roadhouse do so!
Weather was quite warm at one point going thru Texas it hit 107 according to the temp guage on the car and believe me it was warm! So far so good car is running great and a big thanks to Aaron for fixing the fuses and the passenger air bag!!! Love ya man! Oh yeah and in Texas...Gray county line, Gray county line...., Gray county line....? Gray county line?????how many Gray county lines are there?????
Careful in Texas girls... they eat us Mid-westerner's for lunch. You all better eat at that Irish Pub in Flagstaff I told you about (right off 66!)! Best French Dip I've ever had!
